September 18, 2017:
Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that has been effected by the recent hurricanes. Our office has re-opened with no major damage. If you missed a re-certification appointment that was scheduled for the week of September 11th you will automatically be rescheduled. If you have an inspection scheduled in the upcoming weeks you will be receiving a courtesy call from our inspector.
If you are a participant/ resident in need of relocation and/or temporary housing you can register with the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) either online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling (800) 621-3362. You are eligible for FEMA assistance, even if you are already resident/participant of the Housing Choice Voucher program. The FEMA website contains information on emergency shelters. When the user enters an address at the site under the link titled apply for assistance , the system will verify whether that address is in a Federally-declared disaster area. If the address is within that area, the system will provide a link to apply for individual assistance. Disaster declarations will be announced at https://www.fema.gov/disasters as they are made.
